Kevin Spacey breaks silence on living situation: 'Everything is in storage'
Kevin Spacey says he’s homeless as career fallout continue
Kevin Spacey says that seven years after the sexual assault scandal that derailed his career, he no longer has a permanent place to live.
Speaking to the Telegraph, the actor explained, “I’m living in hotels, I’m living in Airbnbs, I’m going where the work is… I literally have no home, that’s what I’m attempting to explain.”
Spacey said his finances were hit hard in the years following the accusations — which culminated in his 2023 acquittal in the UK — though he noted it “never got to” bankruptcy.
He described the personal and legal toll of the period, saying the “costs over these last seven years have been astronomical.”
He added, “I’ve had very little coming in and everything going out.” Reflecting on his absence from Hollywood, he said simply, “You get through it.”
The 66-year-old said the upheaval pushed him back to a familiar mindset: “In weird ways, I feel I’m back to where I first started, which is I just went where the work was.” Spacey said all his belongings are currently stored away.
“Everything is in storage, and I hope at some point… I’ll be able to decide where I want to settle down again.”
More than 30 men, including Anthony Rapp, have accused Spacey of misconduct since 2017, though Spacey has consistently denied wrongdoing. He was found not guilty in a UK trial in 2023 and not liable in a 2022 New York lawsuit.
As he slowly resumes public work — including a performance this week in Limassol, Cyprus — Spacey also responded to claims resurfacing in the 2024 documentary Spacey Unmasked.
He told former journalist Dan Wootton, “I take full responsibility for my past behavior… but I cannot and will not take responsibility or apologise to anyone who’s made up stuff about me or exaggerated stories about me.”
