Charli XCX supports Taylor Swift's ex Joe Alwyn at 'Hamnet' premiere
Charli XCX makes special appearance at Joe Alwyn's movie premiere among notable stars
Charli XCX might have hard feelings towards Taylor Swift but her ex-boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, can still inspire her with his work.
The 33-year-old pop superstar attended the star-studded premiere of Hamnet at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles, alongside other famous art enthusiasts.
The upcoming movie is already much celebrated by advance viewers and has earned Oscars’ predictions from reputable outlets.
Steven Spielberg, the producer of the film, heaped on praises for the really “special” director, Chloe Zhao, who brought Maggie O’Farrell’s award-winning book to the screen, during the premiere.
The Jurassic Park filmmaker championed Zhao for making a movie that is not aiming to only be a box office hit, and pleasure of viewers, but rather, telling a life-changing story that needs to be told.
Talking to press after the screening, Alwyn described the movie as “a beautiful story” about love, adding, “it's painful and it's sad and it's heart-breaking but it's full of so much love and the power of love and the power of art and healing.”
The Apples hitmaker was one of the special guests who graced the event, and her presence was even more notable because of her ongoing drama with The Brutalist actor’s ex-girlfriend.
Charli XCX and Swift have been embroiled in a back and forth battle of subtle jabs at each other since the two singers fell out after they performed together at the Opalite songstress' Reputation tour, and 1989 tour before.
