Queen Camilla receives heartbreaking news on King Charles' birthday

Queen Camilla learned of a tragedy in the family as King Charles celebrates his 77th birthday.

On November 14, Tom Parker Bowles — the son of Queen Camilla and her ex-husband Andrew Parker Bowles — shared a devastating update about his beloved dog Maud, revealing on Instagram that she was “brutally attacked” by a large dog during a walk in London.

He told followers that the incident happened on November 13 on Kensington High Street, adding that Maud remains in the emergency vet after undergoing serious surgery to save her life.

Tom explained that the attack happened suddenly and with terrifying force. “It [the large dog] spotted Maud, dragged the owner off his feet and brutally attacked her,” he wrote.

He described the size difference between his Jack Russell and what he believed to be a Cane Corso as overwhelming: “It was 15 stone, at least. Maud is about 2 stone. I eventually managed to fight off the beast, rolling about on the pavement, and desperately trying to unlock its jaws from her tiny torso. It seemed like hours, but was probably no more than 30 seconds. Maud was very, very seriously injured, and has been undergoing very serious surgery.”

Maud is showing signs of improvement, but Tom used the opportunity to advocate for “dangerous dogs” being “muzzled. Always.”

He added, “Although I’m a great believer in there being no bad dogs, rather bad owners.”

Tom, 50, thanked the strangers who rushed to help him, as well as Village Vet London in Chiswick, who he says “saved” Maud’s life.

“It may all seem a bit sh*t at the moment. But there are so many good people out there. The kindness of strangers is immense,” he added, calling London “the greatest city on earth.”

Queen Camilla has not commented. She also owns a rescue Jack Russell named Bluebell, along with another rescue dog, Moley.
