Prince William, Kate issue update after King Charles grants rare honour
Prince and Princess of Wales share important message as they stand united with King Charles
The Prince and Princess of Wales are choosing to reflect and remember after King Charles officially commences an important event.
King Charles kicked off the events of the sombre occasion on Tuesday, after which Kensington Palace released a message on the behalf of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
The Princess of Wales is set to recite a heartfelt poem titled, A Sonnet For Us All, as part of the Royal British Legion Service of Remembrance at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.
Just near an hour before the service kicked off, Kensington Palace shared a glimpse of the moving words penned by the poet.
“A poem for this year’s Armistice Day Service at the National Memorial Arboretum, created by the Arboretum’s Poet-in-Residence Arji Manuelpillai,” it read.
“As we come together to remember, it feels more important than ever to reflect on the courage, compassion, and sacrifice of all those who have served in defence of our freedom.”
It surmised, “We must cherish what they fought to protect, and let love, above all, guide us forward.”
Princess Kate will be commanding attention at the ceremony as she is set to read the emotional poem and then lay down a wreath at the Armed Forces Memorial and view the new names inscribed on it.
It is rare responsibility and honour that Princess Kate will be performing on a very important calendar date for the royal family.
Meanwhile, Prince William will join the King and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle where a reception will honour veterans who served in the Pacific during the Second World War.
The Duke of Edinburgh and the Duchess of Gloucester will also attend.
