Princess Anne chased by fans after stark moment with Sir Tim Laurence in Australia
Princess Anne marks 100 years of Royal Australian Corps of Signals
Princess Anne, known for her tireless dedication to royal duty, is showing there’s no slowing down despite family turmoil at home.
The Princess Royal and her husband Sir Tim Laurence have embarked on a high profile tour of Australia and Singapore.
On Friday, the pair were warmly welcomed at Admiralty House by Governor-General Sam Mostyn and her husband Simon Beckett. Cammeraygal Elder Brendan Kerin performed a traditional “Welcome to Country” and smoking ceremony to honour their arrival.
In her role as Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Australian Corps of Signals, Anne is celebrating the corps’ centenary, with highlights including a wreath-laying at Sydney’s Anzac Memorial alongside the Governor-General and a ceremonial parade at Victoria Barracks proving once again that royal duty knows no pause.
Anne’s tour Down Under is winning hearts both on and offline. Fans took to social media to praise her recent meeting with Governor-General Sam Mostyn, with comments like, “Two impressive women right there,” “Impressive women,” and “Two amazing women! HRH and HE the GG [heart eyes emoji].”
Buckingham Palace confirmed last month that the Princess Royal’s visit, running from 8th to 13th November, celebrates the centenary of the Royal Australian Corps of Signals.
Her schedule is packed, military engagements in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane, wreath-laying at the Sydney War Cemetery, and a Remembrance ceremony at the Anzac Memorial.
The trip concludes in Singapore, marking 60 years of UK-Singapore diplomatic relations at the request of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
There, Anne is set to meet President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, visit the Kranji War Memorial, and tour the Airbus Asia Training Centre and Rolls-Royce’s Seletar campus.
Following in the footsteps of King Charles and Queen Camilla’s nine day Australian tour, Anne is proving once again that she blends royal duty, military dedication, and diplomacy with effortless poise.
