The Duchess of Sussex was recently spotted filming Close Personal Friends wearing what eagle eyed royal watchers believe to be one of Princess Diana’s most opulent treasures, a gold Panthère de Cartier watch.
The latest wrist candy marks a stylish switch up from her usual favourite, Diana’s Cartier Tank Française, worth around £17,800.
But this new piece is a big cat statement of another calibre entirely, a model that could fetch as much as £138,000 today.
Royal biographer Judy Wade once revealed that the watch was among the glittering gifts Dodi Al Fayed lavished on the late Princess, alongside extravagant gestures like “a huge box of tropical fruit and a roomful of pink roses.”
Her £120,000 engagement ring designed by Harry himself gleamed alongside her £10,000 Welsh gold wedding band, a gift from the late Queen, and her £80,000 eternity ring, reportedly set with birthstones representing Harry, Archie, and herself.
Sources say the Duchess is “thrilled” to return to her first love acting with a star-studded Amazon MGM Studios project featuring Lily Collins, Brie Larson, Jack Quaid, and Henry Golding.
