November's biggest, brightest full moon is set to illuminate the skies on Wednesday, November 5.

The Beaver moon is expected to outshine the skyline as the largest moon of the year, as it will be the closest to Earth.

According to National Geographic, a supermoon occurs when the full moon is at its closest point to Earth, known as perigee.

The November full moon will orbit around 17,000 miles nearer to Earth than an average, making it appear about 7% larger and up to 16 % brighter than a typical full moon.

The November moon will be the brightest celestial event of 2025.

The Beaver moon will be so bright that the glow of the moon will even cast faint shadows on the ground-a rare effect visible only during the most intense supermoons.

2025’s November supermoon is expected to be the biggest since 2019.

As compared to the previous supermoons, the Beaver moon is expected to be 14% bigger and 30% brighter than the other supermoons, reports NASA.

Why is November supermoon titled as 'Beaver moon'

Full moons have been given nicknames or titles reflecting what is happening in nature and the weather observed at that time of year.

Just as October's supermoon was titled '"Harvest moon" following the harvesting season, November's full moon is named "Beaver moon," which is believed to be inspired by the creature, which is quite active this season for early winter preparations.

How to watch November supermoon 2025

The November supermoon will rise at different times in different countries due to the moon illusion.

Stargazers will be lucky to see the Beaver moon in the UK as it is expected to rise at 15:55 GMT on November 5, 2025, reports the BBC.

Moreover, people in different countries can watch the Supermoon with the naked eye on clear nights.

Experts suggest the ideal time to witness the sky event is when the moon is at its complete phase.

In addition, the most magical time to view it is the first hour after the moon rises above the eastern horizon.

Furthermore, to capture ideal shots, a good spot to photograph the moon is in darker skies, away from city lights, and with a clear sightline free of overlapping or camouflaging architecture.

The next and the last Supermoon in the consecutive series of the celestial event is expected to illuminate the skies in December 2025.
