Queen Camilla turns catsuit into blueprint for ageless style

Queen Camilla has quietly become a master of understated glamour. 

At nearly 80, she consistently commands attention with her fearless use of colour, elegant jewellery, and perfectly tailored outfits. One particular piece she has perfected is the catsuit.

Unlike its looser counterpart, the jumpsuit hugs the body, making a bold statement that many shy away from. 

Camilla’s secret lies in simplicity, she chooses flattering shades like navy, favours flared trousers to create a lengthening silhouette, and keeps details minimal, avoiding busy patterns or embellishments.

In 2023, she swapped her usual tailored frocks for a royal blue jumpsuit at the Queen’s Reading Room Literary Festival reception at Hampton Court Palace. 

The sleek number, crafted by Anna Valentine, featured wide leg trousers. She completed the look with her signature bouncy blow dry.

Back in 2019, she delivered a style masterclass on the royal tour of New Zealand with Prince Charles. 

At a reception hosted by Governor-General Dame Patsy Reddy at Government House, she wowed in a deep navy jumpsuit. 

The design featured a bold black zip down the torso, crisp white piping on the sleeves and flared hems.
