Prince Andrew found himself dragging former Australian Prime Minister daughter's name into one of his raising email exchanges back in 2011.
Katherine Keating, the eldest daughter of Paul Keating, has broken her silence on her fleeting brush with Jeffrey Epstein’s infamous social circle.
Katherine confirmed she attended a February 2011 dinner at the invitation of Prince Andrew a “large social event” that also included New York elite like Barbara Walters, Charlie Rose, and Katie Couric.
“At the time, I had only lived in New York about ten weeks, and was happy to accept the odd social invitation,” the 44 year old told Daily Mail on Sunday, stressing there is no suggestion she was aware of or involved in Epstein’s criminal activities.
After moving to NYC with her sister Alexandra, she became part of Manhattan’s high society, dating hotel mogul Andrew Balazs, who is 24 years her senior.
Now, decades later, her name has resurfaced in the US Congress’ review of the Epstein Files, highlighting how even brief brushes with Epstein’s circle can echo years later though Keating insists her involvement was purely social.
Before the Epstein scandal stormed the headlines, Keating was covering the socialites of New York including one Ghislaine Maxwell.
In 2014, Keating hosted One On One, a YouTube interview series for HuffPost, which featured Maxwell, Epstein’s former girlfriend and later infamous as a recruiter of underage “sex slaves.”
In an accompanying article, she painted Maxwell as a “passionate deep-sea diver” and a tireless advocate for ocean conservation.
“Ghislaine Maxwell is a British philanthropist and the founder of the TerraMar Project, a non-profit organisation dedicated to building a global community that will advocate for the world’s oceans and high seas,” Keating wrote.
