Denise Richards trolls ex-husband Charlie Sheen over fake $1M cheque
The 'Real Housewives' alum fires back after the 'Two and a Half Men' claimed she cashed his 'joke' cheque
Denise Richards has set the record straight on Charlie Sheen’s $1 million “joke” cheque.
After Sheen claimed on the KFC Radio podcast that his ex-wife once cashed a million-dollar cheque he wrote her “as a joke,” Richards hit back with proof.
On October 23, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum posted a photo of the cheque on Instagram Stories, writing, “Found this during my recent move. I never cashed it, @charliesheen. Is it still good?”
Sheen, 60, had told host Kevin Clancy that he wrote the cheque for her birthday years ago. “I wrote a cheque to Denise once for $1 million on her birthday, kind of as a joke, and she kept it not as a joke,” he said. “And then, like, a month later, f***ing cashed it.”
The Two and a Half Men star added he wasn’t even sure if they were still married at the time, joking, “Yeah, which makes it sting more? But you know, if I’m on the other side of that, I’m probably cashing that cheque.”
However, the date on the cheque Richards posted — December 24, 2011 —suggests otherwise, as the pair had divorced five years earlier.
Richards, 54, and Sheen were married from 2002 to 2006 and share two daughters, Sami, 21, and Lola, 20. Though their marriage ended in turmoil, the two appear to be on friendlier terms today.
She even appeared on the recent Netflix documentary a.k.a Charlie Sheen, but admitted, “What he put me through, I don’t know how I’m here to be honest.”
