Prince Andrew funds smearing PR campaigns against his victims
Virginia Giuffre’s book alleges Prince Andrew tried to smear her
Prince Andrew faces fresh allegations of misconduct, as Virginia Giuffre claims in her posthumous memoir that his “team” attempted to hire internet trolls to harass her.
The explosive revelations come amid an active investigation by the Metropolitan Police, who are probing claims that Andrew provided Giuffre’s date of birth and social security number to his bodyguard in an effort to dig up damaging information for a smear campaign.
Giuffre’s memoir Nobody’s Girl details the harrowing experiences she endured as a victim of Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking ring, and her latest allegations paint a troubling picture of Andrew’s attempts to intimidate and discredit her.
The book, released on Tuesday, also details tense negotiations during civil litigation, in which Giuffre was suing Andrew for alleged sexual assault after being trafficked by convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
She recalls how the discussions eventually led to a settlement in early 2022, after both she and her lawyer, Siggy McCawley, were moved to tears during a 2.30am phone call when the agreed statement was finally read to her.
“After casting doubt on my credibility for so long… the Duke of York owed me a meaningful apology,” Giuffre writes.
“We would never get a confession, of course. But we were trying for the next best thing: a general acknowledgement of what I’d been through.”
The memoir paints a damning picture of Andrew’s efforts to evade legal scrutiny.
Giuffre recounts that he initially avoided being served with court papers by fleeing to Balmoral Castle, hiding behind its well-guarded gates.
Leaked emails reportedly show Andrew sending this confidential information to a taxpayer-funded police protection officer before forwarding confirmation of his actions to Epstein.
