Jennifer Aniston finally breaks silence on adoption after infertility struggles
American actress shares personal reason behind not adopting children after fertility journey
Jennifer Aniston has recently broken silence on adoption despite her infertility struggles.
The Friends alum talked about her past struggles to conceive but she also confessed that adoption was never an option to have children.
Murder Mystery actress lately explained why she never turned to adoption after co-host Monica Padman revealed her experience of freezing her eggs during an appearance on a Wondery+ early access episode of the Armchair Expert podcast on October 13.
Podcast co-host asked Jennifer if she ever found “peace” after not becoming a parent.
“It’s so peaceful,” said the 56-year-old.
However, Jennifer noted, “I will say there’s a point where it’s like out of my control. There’s literally nothing I can do about it.”
She continued, “When people say, ‘But you can adopt,’ I don’t want to adopt. I want my own DNA in a little person.”
“That’s the only way, selfish or not, whatever that is, I’ve wanted it,” argued the 56-year-old.
The Morning Show actress mentioned that there had been moments when she thought about children but that “often passes within three seconds”.
Jennifer opened up that she now romanticises the idea of not becoming a parent because she’s “on the other side of it” and “it’s out of your control”.
“It just wasn’t in the plan, whatever the plan was it’s very emotional, especially in the moment when they say ‘that’s it,’ because there is a weird moment when that happens,” added the actress.
