Meghan Markle pays tribute to Queen Elizabeth in NYC
Queen Elizabeth's iconic scarves cement her status as a style trendsetter
Meghan Markle turned heads with her chic ensemble, which included a distinctive accessory that paid homage to her late grandmother in law, Queen Elizabeth in New York.
The Duchess of Sussex was spotted wearing a silk scarf famously favoured by the late monarch.
Specifically, Meghan donned the Eperon d'Or et Tenues de Jour Shawl 140, a vibrant, printed accessory that can be styled as a neckerchief, shawl, or headscarf.
Meghan's outfit was completed with a Max Mara Lilia coat, known for its luxurious cashmere fabric and belted waist, which originally retailed for $6,250.
She paired this with Saint Laurent Anaïs Slingback Flats in Smooth Leather, Heidi Merrick Santa Barbara Sunglasses, and accessorized with Guzema Mini Sphere Earrings in 18K Gold and her signature Cartier Love Bracelet in Yellow Gold.
The late Queen Elizabeth II was famed for her impressive collection of scarves, a wardrobe staple that became synonymous with her more relaxed, outdoor style.
She frequently donned them during events like the Royal Windsor Horse Show, as well as other occasions that called for a touch of casual elegance.
Her designer of choice was nearly always the legendary French fashion house Hermès, whose iconic silk scarves have been individually screen-printed since the 1930s.
Many of the Queen’s scarves were custom made or vintage, reflecting her personal taste and timeless sense of style.
