Princess Diana’s brother breaks silence after Meghan’s video in Paris
Charles Spencer shares special nod to Princess Diana amid Meghan's new Paris controversy
Meghan Markle unexpectedly stirred up some trouble after her casual video was considered a great “disrespect” to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.
The late Princess of Wales still continues to be a beloved figure nearly three decades after her fatal car crash in Paris.
Prince Harry and Prince William still carry scars from the loss and Diana’s siblings, especially Earl Charles Spencer, keep her memory alive.
The Duchess of Sussex had attended Paris Fashion Week on Saturday and after the show, in an Instagram Story, she was seen putting her feet up while crossing a bridge, which many netizens thought was the same spot where Diana’s tragic incident occurred.
However, that theory was quickly debunked as scathing remarks piled up against Meghan on social media.
In response, some netizens provided map evidence that it was not the same spot.
Charles Spencer, who is responsible to care for the Althorp estate, shared a piece of his childhood that he shared with his elder sister Diana amid all the drama.
“The Falconry – built in 1613 – was my Althorp home when my father was alive. A privilege to live in such a spot.”
While in the video, which was widely criticised, Meghan seemed to be passing bridges including the Pont Alexandre III and the Pont des Invalides, which is not the actual site.
The next bridge along the Seine is the Pont d'Alma, next to the Pont d'Alma tunnel, is where Diana’s fatal car crash took place in August 1997.
