Prince Harry seemed to be reminded of a curt warning he once received from a beloved royal figure as he mulls over his relationship with the royal family.
The Duke of Sussex stepped back from his senior working position with wife Meghan Markle just two years into their marriage. The rift between the Sussexes and the royals continued to widen over the years.
However, the icy relations between them are beginning to crack as after Harry met with his cancer-stricken father King Charles، making progress in their reconciliation.
Reports have suggested that Harry misses his home and feels ‘homesick’ in the US while Meghan continues to thrive in her home turf. Harry now seems to find himself in a dilemma about bringing his children to his home country, but Meghan doesn't seem to be interested in it one bit
Before tying the knot with the former Suits actress in 2018, Harry was given a stern warning from his late grandfather Prince Philip, according to royal biographer Ingrid Seward.
“One steps out with actresses, one doesn't marry them,” Philip had said. Seward noted that Queen Elizabeth’s husband was “one of the very few wary” of Meghan. He had even compared her to the ‘Duchess of Windsor’ Wallia's Simpson for whom King Edward VIII abdicated to marry.
Ahead of the Remembrance Day, Harry had written a ‘love letter’ to the UK in which he stated: “Though currently, I may live in the United States, Britain is, and always will be, the country I proudly served and fought for.”
Seward previously remarked that Philip feels “very disappointed” because he himself left his naval career to support his wife, the Queen, and to help the monarchy.
She added, “He just cannot understand why she couldn't support Harry and help him rather than wanting to have her voice.”
It remains uncertain if Harry would make a return with his family – including Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet – given his concerns about security. In the current scenario, it is a distant possibility since Meghan’s recent endeavours crushes his hope to convince his wife to step onto UK turf.
