Prince Harry’s star in the US has hit a new low.
According to the latest YouGov Ratings, only 38 per cent of American adults now view the Duke of Sussex favourably a dramatic 14-point drop since the start of 2025.
This steep decline marks the lowest recorded level of American support for Harry since tracking began in October 2020.
At the beginning of the year, half of US respondents held a positive view of the prince, but that goodwill has since evaporated, with 21 per cent actively disliking him.
The pollsters suggest the Sussexes’ struggle to carve out a new public identity after stepping back from royal commentary, a journey that culminated with Harry’s memoir, Spare, in January 2023 may be at the heart of this transatlantic tumble.
Once celebrated as a bridge between royalty and Hollywood charm, The Duke now faces the reality that his American fanbase is shrinking faster than a royal wardrobe in a press scandal.
Both Harry and Meghan have chased independent ventures since stepping back from fulltime royal duties, yet neither has managed to fully win over American hearts.
Meghan’s approval ratings actually took a sharper nosedive than Harry’s in the first half of 2025, dropping 18 points to leave her with a meager net rating of plus four by July.
The Duchess, however, has staged a minor comeback in recent months, climbing 11 points to plus 15 though she still lags behind her husband in US popularity.
The contrast between the pair couldn’t be starker: Meghan’s fortunes are slowly rebounding, while Harry’s transatlantic star continues its downward spiral.
Adding to his woes, the Duke suffered a legal setback in May when courts ruled against his bid to restore police protection for UK visits, reminding Americans that even royals aren’t immune to bureaucracy and perhaps that charm alone can’t stop approval ratings from sliding.
