Royal Family address Prince Harry ‘grey suits’ remark: ‘Well played’
King Charles joins forces with key members for ‘statement’ after Prince Harry’s comment
Prince Harry’s fresh rift with Palace courtiers seem to have taken a major turn as King Charles is joined by Princess Kate and Duchess of Gloucester to make a statement.
The royal family is known for its subtle remarks and tongue-in-cheek humour, and it was on full display as in the latest engagements conducted by senior working members.
As the royals were out and about this week, there was one notable detail that left fans wondering if Harry received a response with a fashion statement.
Following the meeting with his father at Clarence House last month and the negative reports that emerged about it, the Duke of Sussex made a complaint about the matter quoting his late mother Princess Diana’s infamous “men in grey suits”.
Harry had been left furious as he believed that the courtiers were trying to sabotage the reconciliation efforts between him and his father.
A source close to the Duke had told The Mail on Sunday, “The relationship between the Duke and His Majesty The King is a matter for the two of them and the two of them only. The men in grey suits should stay out of it.”
It didn’t appear as a mere coincidence that the sartorial choices for the latest royal engagements would be following a theme: grey suits.
Fans were quick to note and expressed their thoughts online.
“The senior Royals in grey suits is hilarious,” one fan wrote on X. “Their humor is great, showing they call the shots and not some make believe shadowy characters you pleb.”
Another noted thatit was “subtle but effective” response.
“You have to chuckle at all the senior Royals who have all chosen to wear ‘grey suits’ over the past week,” one fan said. “Well played”.
The comments come after the Princess Kate wore a Bella Freud grey suit with an Alexander McQueen top, Stuart Weitzman heels and a pair of diamond and sapphire earrings for to visit RAF Coningsby, her first visit to the station in her role as Royal Honorary Air Commodore.
Meanwhile, King Charles was seen wearing a grey suit during his meeting with the President of Zambia at Dumfries House.
