The family of Prince Andrew’s sexual assault accuser is speaking out after the Duke’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson was recently exposed for her connection to Jeffrey Epstein.
The Duchess of York is under fire over her resurfaced connection to the convicted paedophile as multiple UK organisations have cut ties with her, and the late Virginia Giuffre is applauding the decision.
“It is commendable that these seven charities have cut ties with Sarah Ferguson in light of her connections to Epstein,” Virginia’s brothers, Sky Roberts and Daniel Wilson, said in a statement to The Times on September 24.
They added the move “sends a strong message about accountability and the need to confront those who support the horrific child trafficking network established by Epstein and Maxwell.”
Giuffre had claimed that she was trafficked to Andrew, the younger brother of King Charles III, in 2001 by Epstein when she was just 17 years old. The Duke of York has denied these claims, though he stepped down from royal duties in 2019.
In 2022, Andrew privately settled Giuffre’s civil sex assault lawsuit for an undisclosed amount.
Tragically, Giuffre died by suicide at the age of 41 earlier in April this year.
Though Andrew and Sarah divorced in 1996, they continue to remain close to this day, and thereby shared the same circle of acquaintances over the years, including Epstein.
The charities, which include Julia’s House, the British Heart Foundation, and the Teenage Cancer Trust, acted after resurfaced 2011 emails showed Fergie calling Epstein a “supreme friend” and apologising for publicly disowning him just weeks earlier.
