Dave Bautista shuts down Hollywood complaining culture
Dave Bautista shares that life is too short to spend it with negative people on set
Dave Bautista has taken aim at Hollywood stars who complain about their jobs, saying he has no patience for negativity on film sets.
Speaking in an interview with Collider alongside his Afterburn director J.J. Perry, the actor said he was tired of co-stars who were constantly “b*tching, complaining, moaning, and groaning.”
Bautista explained that he considers filmmaking a privilege and wants to surround himself with people who feel the same way.
“I’m just at the age and point of my life where life’s too short,” he said.
“I love filmmaking, and if people don’t want to be there, I don’t want to be there with them. I’m happy to be there and I want to make the most of it," the star continued.
The former WWE champion has carved out a successful career in Hollywood, appearing in major franchises as well as smaller films.
He worked under directors like Denis Villeneuve and shared the screen with stars including Daniel Craig, Timothée Chalamet, and Josh Brolin.
However, the In the Lost Lands star's latest project, Afterburn, gave him another action role, though he admitted he initially resisted.
He said he signed on because of his respect for Perry, who he credited with creating a positive and encouraging set environment.
Moreover, the actor's career shows no sign of slowing, as his next film Trap House opens on November 14 and will compete with high-profile titles such as Predator Badlands and Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein.
Dave is also preparing to star as Beowulf in Grendel with Jeff Bridges while juggling upcoming projects like Alpha Gang, The Wrecking Crew, and a comedy with Anne Hathaway.
