Rainn Wilson considering career change away from Hollywood
The Office’ star reflects on his acting career and what made him to quit the profession
Rainn Wilson has recently made shocking revelation about quitting Hollywood in the future.
The Office alum shared that he would like to make a career change during an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers on September 3.
Rainn confessed his celebrity star “is fading” and he’s fine with it but this made him realise that acting might not be a permanent career for him.
Given the situation, The Meg star noted that there's “this beautiful occupation called death doula”.
Interestingly, Rainn explained that being a death doula is not all that different from pregnancy doula who helps a woman give birth.
“It's a different kind of birth,” continued the 59-yearold.
However, the actor believed that death is like a “birth into the next phase of existence”.
“I fully believe in the continuation and journey of the human soul beyond the material realm,” mentioned Rainn.
The American comedian noted that to be a death doula, “one needs to be someone with beauty and respect and dignity from this life to the next, to help the family transition, to understand what kind of legacy you want to have, how you want to celebrate what is kind of a painful transition that is often ignored in Western society”.
Meanwhile, Rainn also believed that there’s “a lot of hope to give people” at this time.
The actor opened up that meditation, contemplation are few experiences that Rainn could bring to the process.
“Celebratory is kind of the wrong word, but how you can create a healing space for you and your family to mourn, to grieve, to celebrate, and to ponder this next mysterious step?” he added.
