An Ohio man named Kevin Miller discovered that he had bought a winning lottery ticket worth $500,000 after taking his wife to a medical visit.

The unidentified winner purchased the Best of 7’s scratch-off at a convenience store in Malvern which is about 40 miles from Akron.

According to the Ohio Lottery, he won $500,000 and immediately shared the happy news with his wife.

His wife Kim was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and the prize will help mitigate the financial burden of her medical bills.

He expressed his excitement in the lottery’s statement, “I still can’t believe it. I still think it’s a dream.”

He further explained, “She looked at me funny and said, ‘Did you fall? No, I am in shock. I think I won half a million dollars.”

His wife only believed that the win was real after he scanned the ticket on the mobile application using the Ohio Lottery app and showed her the proof.

The man credited his win to his personal lottery tactic, explaining, “I like the end of the roll, I’ll buy in the middle too but always liked the end of the roll best.”

Where can you buy lottery tickets?

The tickets can be purchased in person at gas stations, grocery stores, and some airport terminals as well.

The tickets can also be ordered online through the official digital lottery courier of the USA TODAY Network in U.S. States such as Arizona, Idaho, Maine, Arkansas, Washington, DC, New York, Oregon, Puerto Rico and West Virginia.

The Jack pocket app allows you to pick your lottery game and place your order, see your ticket, and collect your winnings using phones or computers.
