Maduro flaunts gift from Xi Jinping showcasing China-Venezuela ties
Venezuela’s Maduro thanked China’s Xi Jinping while showing off Huawei phone
Venezuela President Nicolás Maduro expressed heartfelt thanks to China’s President Xi Jinping for gifting a cutting-edge Huawei phone that cannot be hacked in any possible way.
While talking to the press conference, Maduro held the phone and showed it to the international reporters while thanking the China President and showcasing China-Venezuela ties.
"Impressive, I found out everything through this, the phone that Xi Jinping gave me. Look, Xi Jinping gave me this,” Maduro said.
Discussing its state-of-the-art technology, the President commented, " Huawei, the best phone in the world, the Huawei, and the Americans can't hack it, neither their spy planes, nor their satellites.”
Maduro’s remarks came on the heels of rising tensions between the United States and Venezuela on the grounds of growing presence of drug cartels and narco-terrorists.
Recently, Donald Trump has put a bounty of $50 million on the arrest of Maduro and accused him as one of the world’s largest narco-traffickers.
In the midst of rising tensions between US and China, the tech giant Huawei has been facing restrictions on the acquisition of advanced chips since 2020.
Besides the US, some European countries, such as Germany, have put a ban on Huawei devices.
