Ex-attorney charged with murder after repeated domestic violence reports

A former attorney with a previous record of domestic violence strangled his girlfriend to death.

On Monday, August 18, 2025, 911 received a call from Jared Streich informing that his girlfriend, Miranda Grey, is unresponsive in her apartment.

Responding to the call, officers went to her apartment, where they found her dead.

On Tuesday, August 19, 2025, the autopsy report revealed that the 46-year-old died due to strangulation and had various injuries on her body.

The police had already taken the 40-year-old into custody for allegedly threatening his girlfriend with a knife, due to which he was not allowed to be seen around her residence.

According to the court history, Streich had a disturbing pattern of domestic abuse. He was arrested multiple times on this account, including incidents that occurred in April and July, where Grey accused him of physical assault and using a knife.

But shortly, the charges were dropped, and he was not arrested.

Just two days before Gray’s death, Streich was arrested again for violating bond after police found him at her apartment during a domestic disturbance call. His bond was set at $2,500.

Gray previously intended to seek protection but later declined any further legal assistance.

The criminal charges against Streich resulted in the suspension of his attorney license earlier this year. He remains in custody awaiting further court proceedings.
