‘The Last of Us’ season three gets exciting update
‘The Last of Us’ stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey
The Last of Us has announced a delightful news for its fans.
The season three of the hit action-adventure video game is set to premiere in 2027.
As per NME, HBO's Francesca Orci revealed that there had previously been conversations with Craig Mazin that suggested the show could run up to three or five seasons.
However recently, HBO boss Casey Bloys told Variety, "The series is definitely planned for 2027. Craig is still working it out whether it will be two more seasons or one more long season."
He added, "It hasn’t been decided yet, and I’m following Craig's lead on that."
There have been big changes in the previous season, most notably death of Pedro Pascal's character Joel Miller and exit of co-creator Neil Druckmann from the franchise.
The series is set to be post-apocalyptic United States, 20 years after deadly fungal infection has wiped much of humanity and turned many into zombies.
Miller (Pascal), a hardened smuggler is tasked with escorting a young girl named Ellie (Ramsey) across the plagued state. Miller however dies unexpectedly in season two.
The release date of season three yet to be announced.
