Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are seemingly unsure of their next move as the couple is faced with panic over an unexpected setback.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down from their senior royal positions in 2020 and they were unceremoniously told that their state-funded security was also downgraded. The couple was then left to deal with a crucial security matter as they left the UK but a close pal in Hollywood had swept in to offer help.

Tyler Perry, who is also the godfather of Princess Lilibet, offered them refuge at his Los Angeles home where the family could feel safe with their then-one-year-old son Prince Archie.

Now, as the actor faces a $260 million lawsuit from actor Derek Dixon for alleged sexual harassment, assault and retaliation, there hasn’t been a public statement of support from the Sussexes. The whole ordeal is becoming a lose-lose situation for the couple as their reputation is on the line, according royal expert Hilary Fordwich.

“Instead of offering their stalwart support as good friends would who even lived in his home, this silence is a clear demonstration of… a total lack of moral courage,” she told Fox News Digital.

“Their silence to avoid entanglement in a scandal, especially given their precarious standing in both Hollywood and royal circles, won’t look good in the long run.”

She elaborated Harry and Meghan’s lose-lose situation since “keeping their distance has backfired either way”.

“If Tyler Perry is exonerated, their lack of support will be seen as a betrayal, further damaging their credibility among friends and potential allies alike,” she explained. “If allegations against Tyler Perry are proven, distancing themselves to protect their brand will still appear opportunistic and ungrateful.”
