Prince William celebrated his 43rd birthday on Saturday and received and outpouring of love from family, friends and the public.

Buckingham Palace released a birthday tribute for Prince of Wales on its social media, but it seems that the only effort King Charles had made for his son’s birthday.

While, it is understood that William had private low-key celebration with his wife, Kate Middleton and three children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, the king would have just made a lukewarm gesture rather than anything grand for his heir, per the Charles’s former royal gardener, Jack Stooks.

“Maybe a phone call or a small gift," Stooks told Marie Claire. “They’re not really into big birthday lunches or public displays unless it's a milestone one.”

However, the former staffer shared that if it were a milestone birthday, the King may have marked it as a bigger deal. Meanwhile, the Wales family issued an adorable tribute to William.

“When William turns 50, I imagine there’ll be a bigger deal made, like a proper party, maybe hosted at Buckingham Palace, and the press will be told about it,” he suggested. “But for now, it'll probably just be a quiet acknowledgment from The King.”

The remarks come as the King is reconsidering the privileges that he has bestowed on the Prince and Princess of Wales.

In The Daily Beast report, a friend of Charles shared that Kate’s last-minute move was disrespectful to the thing especially when he has been so considerate about many matters.

Kate had pulled out of the second day of Royal Ascot very last minute, even after the carriage list had been published. The friend shared that Kate must have been “genuinely unable to come, yet the last-minute nature of the way it was announced makes the king look disrespected”.

They also noted that such a decision during Queen Elizabeth’s reign would not have been possible.
