Duchess of Sussex's second As Ever collection was criticised for repeat mistake
Meghan Markle’s lifestyle brand was once again criticised for its repeated error since its launch in April of this year.
The Duchess of Sussex had released the second collection of her brand on Friday, which was once again sold out as quickly as it went live. The same thing had happened when Meghan launched her brand and, many fans were left disappointed even after their orders had gone through.
Just a day after the launch, Meghan dropped a message to her fans expressing her gratitude, despite the mounting criticism.
“It’s true,” she wrote in the caption. “From our hearts to your homes: thank you for being here. You’re the sweetest part of what we do!”
She then reshared the story on her personal account and added five white hearts on top.
The message also comes after the Duchess had shared that the team had spent extra time to make sure that they had “so much more inventory”.
“That’s why we took the time, and you guys are doing it again,” she said, referencing the April 2 drop. “We’re nearly sold out on everything, and I can’t believe it.”
Moreover, experts had previously pointed out that having low stock is an old strategy to boost the popularity of the brand. They stated that it is uncertain how many units Meghan had ordered which were sold out in less than an hour.
Photo journalist Helena Chard claimed that all these strategies coverge into Meghan’s goal of earning “hard cash”.
She told Fox News Digital that Prince Harry’s wife “will cling to this as it will help bring her [more] fame and fortune, which is imperative to her life”.
Chard noted that Meghan – who is also renewed her deal with Netflix as her show With Love, Meghan is return for season 2 and 3 – “will keep her fingers in many pies and her name in lights with the hope that one or more of her ideas will bring in the much-needed hard cash”.
