Duchess Sophie receives special honour after Palace doors 'shut' on Harry
King Charles' 'secret weapon' Duchess Sophie leaves a lasting impression on Britons
Duchess Sophie began a new chapter of life with a special honour.
The Duchess of Edinburgh recently celebrated her 26th wedding anniversary with Prince Edward.
Sophie and her husband received praise from royal experts for being an "additional resource" for Buckingham Palace amid King Charles' slimmed-down monarchy approach.
Since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal exit in 2020, the number of active working royals declined especially after the monarch and Princess Kate's cancer diagnosis.
Now, The Sun's royal editor Matt Wilkinson honoured Sophie by calling her the "secret weapon" of the royal family, with a prediction that the "House of Edinburgh could replace the House of Sussex at some stage."
In response, another royal commentator Chris Ship said, "I think they could be an additional resource for Buckingham Palace."
He said that the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh are not exactly spring chickens, as the couple represent a generation in between William and Kate and the King and Queen."
The Edinburghs made a favourable impression on the British public with their sense of duty, especially after reports suggested that the Palace had shut its doors on the Duke of Sussex.
This decision was reportedly due to concerns from King Charles and Prince William about the Duke's lack of trustworthiness, stemming from his repeated discussions of family matters on television.
