Meghan Markle has shared a unique approach she's taking to teach her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, about the value of money.
According to the Duchess of Sussex, she and Prince Harry are encouraging their kids to participate in gardening and selling their homegrown produce at a local farmer's market in Montecito, California.
She believes it's essential for her children to understand the value of things, especially given their privileged upbringing.
"There's a cost and a price for things, and I think that's key for children to understand, especially children who are very lucky to have a home that has privilege," she said.
"You need to know that — just like manners and taking care of the things around you — there is a value on things."
The mother-of-two also highlighted the benefits of gardening for children, saying it teaches them patience, value, and appreciation for food.
"Gardening is really, really so great for children because it teaches them patience and teaches them to value and appreciate their food," she explained.
Through their farmer's market stand, Meghan and Harry are teaching Archie and Lilibet about earning money and how to spend it.
"We sometimes do a little farmer's market stand," Meghan revealed. "We grow a lot of veggies and part of what I want them to learn is...gardening is really great for children."
As a mother, the former actress is prioritising her children's needs while also juggling her business ventures. She expressed her joy in simple moments, like preparing her children's packed lunches with vegetables grown in their garden.
"I love it at the end of a long day. The kids are down to bed at like 7ish. I can go downstairs have a glass of wine [and] I'm doing their little lunch. I find joy in it for whatever reason and it can be therapeutic," she shared
