Lloyd Webber returns to Windsor for Garter Day honours
King Charles and Queen Camilla have arrived in regal style at Windsor Castle for one of the most prestigious events on the royal calendar Garter Day 2025.
Dressed head to toe in their elaborate velvet robes and plumed hats, Their Majesties looked every bit the part as they stepped out under the blazing summer sun, undeterred by the soaring temperatures.
King Charles was flanked by two fresh faced pages of honour as he arrived at Windsor, William Sackville and Alfred Wellesley, both schoolboys and sons of close friends of the monarch.
The young pages walked proudly behind the King, helping to carry the train of his elaborate blue velvet robes as the royal procession made its way to St George’s Chapel.
Legendary composer Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber who was appointed a Knight Companion of the Order of the Garter by the King on St George’s Day in 2024 also returned for his official role in the ceremony, suited in full ceremonial regalia.
Former Prime Minister Sir Tony Blair also took part in the ceremonial proceedings.
Appointed a Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter in 2022, Blair donned the traditional regalia with plumed hat and sweeping mantle.
