Prince Harry is being urged to cash in on his explosive memoir Spare by selling the screen rights to Netflix securing a lucrative new deal with the streaming giant as their current $100 million contract nears its September end.

According to a senior Hollywood production insider, the rights to the bestselling autobiography could fetch "tens of millions of dollars,' with plans for a high profile three or four part drama series already being floated.

The adaptation could revive momentum for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s brand, which has faced a string of underwhelming releases since the initial success of Harry & Meghan.

The Duke has had minimal contact with his family since the book’s release in January 2023, after making explosive claims about both King Charles and Prince William.

Among the most headline grabbing revelations were accusations that the Prince of Wales physically assaulted him, and that King Charles allegedly thanked Princess Diana for giving him "an heir and a spare."

A source told the Daily Mail, "Spare is the one ace the couple can play to guarantee blockbuster ratings and ensure themselves another potentially huge payday."

The proposed limited series could serve as a financial and reputational lifeline for the Sussexes, whose initial Netflix buzz has faded in the wake of lukewarm projects.

With the curtain closing on The Crown in late 2023, Netflix is reportedly eager to fill the royal shaped gap in its programming and Spare could be just the ticket.

According to LA based media analyst Martin Cobb, the Duke of Sussex is "sitting on an even bigger goldmine" with the screen rights to his explosive autobiography.

"If he decides his relationships with his family are irredeemable, he may well go ahead and cash in especially now, as he and Meghan are struggling to maintain the momentum they once had with Netflix," Cobb explained.
