'Sad' Prince Harry only wants to reconcile with his father King Charles
King Charles extends Father's Day wish after Prince Harry's reconciliation offer
Prince Harry's real feelings behind his reconciliation wish on television were finally laid bare.
For the unversed, following a major setback in his UK security case, the Duke of Sussex sat down for an interview with BBC in which he expressed his utter disappointment over the legal loss.
During the same conversation, Harry spoke about his father's health woes, offering an olive branch to the royal family.
He said, "Of course, some members of my family will never forgive me for writing a book. Of course, they will never forgive me for lots of things. But... I would love for reconciliation."
Calling life "precious," the Duke added, "I don't know how much longer my father has... he won't speak to me because of this security stuff."
After Harry's remarks about the King's health, several royal experts and fans criticised him for raising concerns about the monarch's cancer.
However, royal photographer Arthur Edwards believes that the Duke of Sussex genuinely wanted to make amends with the royals but his choice of words was not appropriate.
In conversation with The Sun, he said, "I feel somehow he's having probably second thoughts. All he wanted to do was reconcile with his father. The thing is if he'd only said sorry on that interview, 'sorry, Pop, you know, I do want to see you' - I think that might have had a different [effect]."
The royal expert added, "But in many ways, it was coming from his heart, I thought. His father is not well, he's concerned - it's his father. I did feel that there was a change in his attitude. I mean, I haven't seen anything in five years. And then suddenly he comes out with that. I thought he looked so sad, you know, so sad."
