King Charles leads family for Buckingham Palace Flypast
King’s guards lead over 1,400 troops in grand military display
The Royal Family gathered on the iconic Buckingham Palace balcony on Saturday to mark King Charles III’s official birthday, following the spectacular Trooping the Colour parade through central London.
King Charles and Queen Camilla stood side by side as they awaited the traditional RAF flypast, a breathtaking aerial display that featured the Red Arrows, Chinook helicopters, and a historic Lancaster bomber from the Second World War era.
The Prince and Princess of Wales were joined by their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Joining the monarch for the time honoured balcony appearance were key members of the Royal Family: the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, the Princess Royal and Sir Timothy Laurence, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, and Prince Michael of Kent.
A touching moment saw the children bow their heads in silent tribute alongside other royals, honouring the 270 victims of the recent Air India tragedy.
Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, was on hand to guide the young royals as they observed the minute’s silence from a separate balcony, joining the wider family in this heartfelt mark of respect.
Earlier in the day, Charlotte was seen waving to the crowds as the young royals travelled through London, spreading joy and excitement among well-wishers.
The grand parade itself featured over 1,400 soldiers, including members of the King’s Guards, marching through the city’s streets in a display of military precision and pageantry.
King Charles and Queen Camilla delighted spectators as they rode in an open carriage along The Mall, acknowledging the thousands gathered to celebrate.
Meanwhile, the Prince and Princess of Wales travelled with Prince Louis in their carriage, with Charlotte and George seated in front.
