Rishi Kapoor opines on Salman Khan's rape comment

MUMBAI: Bollywood legend Rishi Kapoor also spoke about Salman Khan's recent rape comments and gave his opinion about the whole backlash it derived. 

During a meeting with a journalist, Rishi said that though Salman Khan's comments were inappropriate, the intentions of the Dabangg actor were not bad. 

"Let me give you an example. There was a time when Dara Singh used to make films. He was called the tough man. So the street language was, ‘apne aapko bada dara singh samajhta hai.’ Today, in our local language and vocabulary, I agree it’s wrong, we say sometimes we are raped yar. You say you are spaced out, doesn’t mean you are in space or I am screwed, you aren’t actually screwed. You don’t mean it. I would say it is improper and at the wrong moment,” he stated. 

Rishi Kapoor finished by saying that he felt Salman should have apologised and if he hadn't by now, then he must be about to. 

Salman Khan had ignited controversy a couple of weeks ago when he said that after shooting for Sultan, he felt like a raped woman. His comments ignited fury and anger across India, especially on micro-blogging site Twitter. 

Actress Kangana Ranaut also stated that the comments made by the Bajrangi Bhaijaan were disgusting and insensitive.

Salim Khan, Salman's father, had apologised on his son's behalf and stated that Salman's intentions were not bad. So far the Bollywood actor has refrained from issuing an apology over the statement and kept quiet about it.
