Prince Harry appears to be fighting his battles along as his wife Meghan Markle dives head-on with her business ventures as the couple seemingly confirm their ‘professional separation’.
Earlier this week, the Duke of Sussex made a surprise visit to Chine to promote his eco-friendly travelling company, Travelyst. The visit clashed at the exact time as King Charles went on his royal tour to Canada with his wife, Queen Camilla.
The move raised concerns not only about Harry’s rift with the royals but also how his exit from senior royal position and his separation is taking a toll on him.
Journalist Esther Krakue expressed to The Sun that the China visit is a clear indicator that he has “nothing left”. News.com.au's royal correspondent Bronte Coy shared that it was another “indication of the separation between the Sussexes and the royals”.
“If you think about it critically, what else does he [Harry] have left?,” Esther said. “I mean, he’s resigned from Sentebale, while it’s being investigated.”
She noted that since Harry is no longer a working royal, and even though he has his Invictus Games, his “involvement is not as in-depth because it's every few years”.
Esther explained that Travelyst is “all he has got left”. Moreover, as Meghan continues to rebrand herself with her Netflix show, lifestyle brand As Ever and podcast, Harry is just left in her shadow as just a “shell of his former self”.
“It kind of feels like [this] because there’s nothing left,” she said. “He’s just watching Meghan go from experiment to experiment, you know, taking his kids to school and dropping them off – but really, there isn't much there in terms of the man.”
Meanwhile, Bronte echoed similar views as she stated that it has been an “erratic” year for Harry.
She said he seemed “lost” dealing with court cases and not much of the charity work that he was known for doing.
