Meghan Markle ‘fashion line’ faces crucial problem as she shares big plans
Meghan Markle makes major admission about future in fashion as he gets candid about ambitions
Meghan Markle has ambitious plans when it comes to business endeavours and there is more to come apart from the lifestyle brand, Netflix shows and podcast.
The Duchess of Sussex, who is also mom to six-year-old Prince Archie and three-year-old Princess Lilibet, got candid about her future plans in an interview with Fast Company.
According to past reports and sources, when Meghan had been trying to get a trademark for her brand, As Ever, she could not get one approved in the clothing category – clothing brands with the same name already exist and have been copyrighted.
However, Meghan seems undeterred by the setback revealing that a fashion line is also something the public can expect from her.
When asked if she was willing to start a clothing business given that there is much interest in her sartorial choices, Meghan revealed that she would be interested.
“The category of fashion is something I will explore at a later date, because I do think that’s an interesting space for me,” she told the outlet.
However, she noted that currently her brand revolves around a single idea with as her “heart is very deeply in [her] home”.
“Everything comes from being rooted in the love story of your home and garden, and then you can imagine different verticals coming out of that,” she explained the ethos of her brand.
The idea of Meghan’s fashion line is not a far-fetched thought as the Duchess launched a fashion website in March.
The digital shop allows fans to purchase fashion items that Meghan has on her recommendations and would receive a sales commission on some products purchased through the affiliate links she shared.
The “elite” platform offers commission as high as 30%, which is a lot considering the luxury brands Meghan.
However, if Meghan plans to make her own label, the Duchess still has one major problem to deal with: the name. If and when Meghan decides to pursue this new venture, she would have to do it under a different name than 'As Ever'.
Considering the legal processes and troubles that she had to go through with her lifestyle brand (formerly named American Riviera Orchard), Meghan would have to learn from her past mistakes.
