Nicola Coughlan warned of heartbreak over younger boyfriend

Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan is head over heels in love with boyfriend Jake Dunn, but not everyone in her inner circle is convinced their relationship will last.

Reportedly, the Irish actress has been warned of heartbreak by her close pals weighing in on her relationship with Dunn, suggesting that it might not work out for them due to their age gap.

"The age difference is the main issue," the insider spilled the beans to Life & Style. "She’s 38 and he’s 25 and while that’s not a huge deal for some couples, Nicola’s got a few friends warning her that Jake will eventually break her heart."

However, the 38-year-old is not heeding any of her friends' comments

"Jake is young, but they have a great connection, and there’s plenty of chemistry," the source dished on the lovebird’s relationship. "So, Nicola’s not listening to all the chatter and just taking things one day at a time. She and Jake are having fun, and that’s good enough."

The couple first sparked romance rumours in August 2024 after they were spotted together at a music festival in England. They’ve since been seen on casual dates and walks before finally going Instagram official on Jake’s 25th birthday.

Notably, Coughlan’s relationship with Jake comes after Bridgerton fans started to ship her in a real-life romance with her co-star Luke Newton, who plays Colin Bridgerton, husband of Coughlan’s Penelope Featherington, in hit Netflix series.
