Eva Longoria reveals Meryl Streep reaction after learning they are cousins

Eva Longoria has recently shared Meryl Streep reaction after finding out they are cousins.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on March 19, the Desperate Housewives alum revealed she discovered she’s related to Meryl.

Eva talked about an episode of Dr. Henry Louis Gates' genealogy series Faces of America episode, saying, “He cross-references everybody's DNA to see if we share a relative in the last 100 years.”

“And he's like, 'Do you want to know who you're related to?' And I was like, 'Yeah.' And he's like, 'Meryl Streep,’” stated the 50-year-old.

Eva opened up that she was “so excited” after learning about her relation with Meryl but she was tentative to discuss with the Mamma Mia! actress when she met her at an award show.

“I was, like, at the Golden Globes or I don't know—something backstage in the green room—and my friend was like, 'There's Meryl, go say you're her cousin,’” recalled The Sentinel actress.

Eva recalled, “I'm like, 'I'm not gonna go up to Meryl Streep and say we're cousins. It's not gonna make any sense. I don't know if she saw that part of the show.’”

However, the Land of Women alum didn't have to deliver the news because the Oscar winner had already watched the episode herself.

Eva told Jimmy, “I hear, 'Cousin! Cousin!' That's how cool Meryl Streep is. She's like, 'Cousin!’”

“I was like, 'Clearly you got the talent in the family,’” said Eva adding, “And she's like, 'Clearly you got the beauty.’”

Interestingly, Eva not only shared lineage with Meryl but also the actresses appeared together in the fourth season of Hulu's hit series Only Murders in the Building.

Dishing out details, the John Wick actress added, “In this season was, like, Meryl, Paul Rudd, Melissa McCarthy, Zach Galifianakis, Eugene Levy, me… I mean, every day, there was another comedy icon, and I was, like, pinching myself.”
