Joey King reveals how she suffered burns on face and neck on social media
Joey King has recently updated her fans about her recovery from facial burn injury while cooking shallots in her kitchen.
On January 28, the Kissing Booth alum posted a photo collage on her Instagram Stories, showing her face going through healing stages of the burns on her face and neck.
In the pictures, Joey could be seen having an ointment covered on her burn injuries.
“I burned myself a few days ago by throwing shallots into a pan of hot oil,” wrote the 25-year-old.
Joey added, “I called my mom to tell her and she says, ‘See that’s why I hate cooking.’”
However, the Family Affair actress revealed that she loved cooking during a segment on The Drew Barrymore Show in 2022.
Joey told Drew that her boyfriend is an amazing cook and he was the one who got her into cooking and once she started, she could not stop.
The actress further said that cooking’s the best, explaining, “It’s fun, it’s therapeutic, I like the amount of time it takes.”
“I also like cooking because I like to eat,” she confessed.
Earlier in July 2024, Joey opened up about her frustrations with perioral dermatitis for the last seven months.
At the time, the actress mentioned that she had been trying to stop her prescription stuff to make it go away on its own.
However, Joey disclosed that she just stopped it like a week ago.
“I started using my other skincare and, you can't really see it right now, but it's like coming back. And I have literally no idea what to do about it,” said the actress.
