Liam Payne’s close friend Argentinian businessman, Roger Nores, revealed that he seemingly had nothing to do with the tragic death of the One Direction star.
Nores was one of the five people who are under investigation after the singer’s death on October 16th following the fall from third floor balcony of his hotel in Argentina.
Argentinean prosecutors suspected the businessman for abandoning the Strip That Down hitmaker before he died, but Nores claimed that Payne was “playful, happy and fine” when he left him.
“He was in good spirits, he was talking to 10 or 15 Americans that were here for a wedding,” he told TMZ.
“He was perfectly balanced, talking to everybody, having fun, laughing, so nothing out of the ordinary. So that's when I said, 'bye,'” Nores added.
“He seemed playful and happy. I went to the hotel three times to check on him. He seemed tipsy but nothing out of the ordinary.”
However, eyewitnesses claimed that Payne was not “coherent” and appeared to be intoxicated.
This comes after prosecutors obtained a text allegedly sent by the late singer to Nores if he could get him drugs. The alleged text read, “Can you get 6 grams?”
Four other people associated with Payne and CasaSur hotel are also currently investigation.
