Jim Carrey's 'Sonic 3' featurette releases: Keanu Reeves calls actor 'genius'

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 makers have finally dropped the behind the scenes of Jim Carrey’s character.

The Mask star, who will be playing a double role in the new animated flick, can be seen undergoing the process of transformation through make up.

In the newly released featurette, Carrey explained his transformation process while also calling it the 'most zany make-up experiences of his life'.

Meanwhile, the video also featured other lead actors of the film including Keanu Reeves, Idris Elba, Ben Schwartz and James Marsden.

They all praised the versatile actor’s energy and dedication towards the roles of Dr. Ivo Robotnik and his grandfather Gerald Robotnik.

In the beginning of video, the John Wick actor could be heard saying: “Jim Carrey is a genius.” He further said ‘watching his energy and physicality with a mustache is something to behold’.

Meanwhile, Idris called the comedic actor, ‘Inventive’.

On the other hand, Ben, who will be playing Sonic in the film, dedicated the word ‘mastermind’ to the Dumb and Dumber actor.

Jim also revealed his reaction after he heard that he was going to play two characters. “Well when they told me I was going to play two Robotniks, I was delighted. Until I realized, I was doing twice the work for the same pay”, he added.

Sonic 3 is an action adventure that is slated to hit theaters on December 20.
