King Charles recalled heart touching historic life moments in a new documentary which is set to be released on Boxing Day in Canada.
The Mirror reported that the upcoming TV project, Coronation Girls, "tells the tale of 50 young Canadian women who journeyed across the Atlantic to witness Queen Elizabeth II's coronation in the summer of 1953."
In 2023, the same group of women, now aged between 89 to 90 years old, visited London and the monarch surprised them during their visit to Buckingham Palace.
In a new documentary, King Charles shares new insight into the weighty concerns he had ahead of his coronation, as well as a rare glimpse into his early family life.
While sharing past memories about his mother's time as a monarch, he said, "My grandmother explained things to me while I was there."
Charles warmly greeted the women and opened up about his childhood. He shared, "I remember it all so well then because I remember my sister and I had bath time in the evening. My mama used to come up at bath time wearing the crown to practice."
He added, "You have to get used to how heavy it is. I’ve never forgotten, I can still remember it vividly."
Prince William and Harry's father revealed that it was very important back then to wear the crown for a certain amount of time in order to get used to. He continued, "But the big one that you’re crowned with, the St Edward’s Crown, it weighs five pounds."
"It is much heavier and taller, so there’s always that feeling of feeling slightly anxious, in case it wobbles. You have to carry it, you have to look straight ahead," Charles further stated.
