Allison Janney opens up on The Diplomat Season 2 finale, 'threw the script’
Allison Janney plays the role of Vice President Grace Penn in the ‘The Diplomat’
Allison Janney was not expecting she would react this way to one of the scripts for The Diplomat at first.
During her Nov. 4 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the actress, 64, shared an unexpected experience while reading the script for the season 2 finale of her latest political thriller series.
Janney explained that she had an intense reaction to the storyline, and, by the time she reached the final page, she found herself doing something she had “never” done before.
“I literally threw the script across the room,” the actress revealed.
“It was like, 'What the?' Because it was such an explosive, such an incredible — everyone has to binge the whole season because I’m only in the last two episodes. It is such a spectacular ending, I get chills thinking about it.”
Janney's guest role in The Diplomat generated buzz among fans and cast members alike.
First reported by Variety in January, her appearance brought fresh excitement to the political thriller series.
Janney takes on the role of Vice President Grace Penn, joining the intense storyline that follows the U.S. Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Kate Wyler (played by Keri Russell), and her husband Hal Wyler (Rufus Sewell) as they navigate high-stakes diplomacy to prevent a global conflict.
