Cher is set to lead the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show towards a grand comeback.
As the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show prepares to make its highly anticipated comeback, the fashion house announced that none other than the Hollywood icon Cher will headline the upcoming show in October.
Taking to its Instagram on Tuesday, September 17, Victoria’s Secret celebrated the 78-year-old Hollywood icon as the “mother of fashion.”
“It’s a woman’s world, so it’s understood that you can’t have a fashion show without the mother of fashion herself—@Cher! We’re beyond excited to announce she will officially be performing at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2024...stay tuned, more announcements are coming to round out our first-ever, all-women lineup,” read the announcement.
Cher’s performance will lead the show on Oct. 15, marking Victoria's Secret's first full return to the runway since 2018. The event, held in Brooklyn, N.Y., promises to be an empowering celebration, featuring an all-women lineup of performers. Some of the brand’s most famous models — including Gigi Hadid, Tyra Banks, and Paloma Elsesser — are set to strut the runway.
After its 2019 cancellation due to inclusivity concerns, the brand shifted to hosting The Tour last year, a streamed global event that left fans nostalgic for the classic runway format.
