Kim Cattrall is setting the record straight about her involvement in the next season of And Just Like That...
On Sunday, the Sex and the City star directly addressed speculation about her reprisal of Samantha Jones for the third season of the revival series.
Responding to a tweet that reshared an Elle article claiming her return, Cattrall, 67, swiftly put the rumors to rest.
“Aw that’s so kind,” Cattrall wrote on X. “But I’m not.”
Buzz about Cattrall's potential comeback has been circulating, especially since she made a surprise cameo as Samantha at the end of the show’s second season last year. The revival series continues to follow the lives of Samantha's friends Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Charlotte (Kristin Davis), and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) as they navigate their 50s in New York.
After 2010's movie Sex and the City 2, Cattrall chose not to do a third film and was not part of the initial And Just Like That... cast. Despite her brief appearance in season 2, she remained firm on her stance about a larger return.
"This is as far as I'm going to go," she told Today in 2023 when asked about expanding Samantha's presence in the future. However, she added, "I don't think I'll ever say goodbye to Samantha. She's like a lot of other characters that I've done over the years. I get very emotionally attached and protective of my characters. She gave me so much, and I'm so appreciative of her."
