Prince Harry’s close pal and former chief executive of the Invictus Games Foundation issued a statement after his strange exit.
Dominic Reid, who had been part of the foundation for nearly a decade, shared a heartfelt message praising the ambitions of Invictus Game and insisted that the had been "an honour" but was now "the right time" to step down.
"I think now it requires energy and a fresh look to engage it and take it to the next level. I think it's a good time for all of us,” Dominic said.
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield discussed the strange timing of his exit with Talk TV’s Kevin O'Sullivan, claiming it was quite sensational.
Sullivan said that Dominic’s exit was a “big blow” for Harry especially since he is still “suffering from the criticism for taking [the Pat Tillman] award” knowing that Tillman’s mother was against it.
Schofield stated that while the exit statements had been “glowing” for reach other but Dominic was “responsible for delivering the games and the nurturing of The Invictus Spirit and its global impact.”
She also added that “it was [Dominic’s] idea to create this mentor Invictus series that we're about to see” and also “The Winter Games.” Schofield posed that the former CEO did not want to see that “come to fruition?”
Schofield also added that the Harry would now have find an equally dedicated replacement for the position.
“We're not hearing that so somebody's ready to jump in and usually when you're in a large position like CEO,” she pointed out.
“I mean it surprises me, if you were to give an advance that they wouldn't have somebody ready to announce on the tail end of this. ‘Congratulations to the new person that we've put in charge of this’ that would make this story go away immediately.
“But that person doesn't exist yet and that's not a good look for the Invictus team.”
