Sarah Michelle Gellar is going to play a role of CSI chief in Dexter: Original Sin
Sarah Michelle Gellar has recently joined the cast of Dexter: Original Sin.
Taking to Instagram on June 27, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer star shared a clip of Dexter news from Deadline.
In the caption, Sarah wrote, “It’s going to be a bloody good ride.”
Interestingly, the actress will have a special guest star role as Tanya Martin, the CSI chief at the Miami Metro Police Department and Dexter’s new boss at a forensics internship.
In a statement shared via PEOPLE, Nina L. Diaz, president of content and chief content officer of Showtime, said, “Sarah Michelle Gellar is a pop culture icon who perfectly rounds out our best-in-class cast featuring Christian Slater and Patrick Dempsey among others.”
“We’re thrilled to have her return to the SHOWTIME/MTV Entertainment Studios family and join the origin story of the Dexter franchise,” stated Nina.
Besides Sarah, the show’s cast also includes Christian Slater, Patrick Dempsey, Molly Brown, Debra Morgan, James Martinez, Christina Milian, Alex Shimizu and Reno Wilson.
Dexter showrunner Clyde Phillips also reportedly directed the prequel series.
Earlier, the original series earned four Emmy Awards, including outstanding directing for a drama series in 2010 and outstanding guest actor in a drama series in 2010 for John Lithgow’s portrayal as Arthur Mitchell.
