Prince William and Princess Kate are "not worried" about Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie "getting closer" to Meghan and Harry, according to a royal commentator.
Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson's daughters have reportedly stayed in touch with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex since their relocation from the UK to the US.
Speaking to GBN America, Daily Mail columnist Maureen Callahan said: "I find this interesting because I wonder which camp this is really coming out of, because I think among the worries that William and Kate have, that might be further down the list.
"We just learned that Kate will probably not be making a public appearance again for the rest of 2024. King Charles is, of course, in the middle of his cancer battle.
I find it a little bit hard to believe that they would be that worried about, let's be honest, lesser royals becoming closer to Harry and Meghan full well knowing the liabilities that would cost them.
"They already have a father who, in essence, a Prince in exile. They have to make a very calculated decision as to which house these two, Beatrice and Eugenie, want to ally themselves with.
"Is it Camp Montecito, which is losing brand points and credibility and likeability by the second? Or is it with Kate and William, the future King and Queen, whose popularity has never been higher, especially in the States?"
However, this is not everyone's view, as royal commentator Tom Quinn has claimed that Kate and William are "worried" about the alliance. He told the Mirror: "For William and Kate, an alliance between Harry and Meghan and Beatrice and Eugenie is a huge worry.”
He added: "They sense that Beatrice and Eugenie feel that, as virtual outcasts themselves, they have far more in common with Harry and Megan than with any other part of the family.
"The situation is made worse by the fact that the senior royals’ main asset – Kate herself - is effectively out of action while she continues her treatment for cancer.
