Misha Collins teased that Supernatural may be ressurected in 2025 for another season, helmed by original series creator Eric Kripke.

The actor, 49, who played the role of an angel Castiel on the fantasy show took to his Instagram on Monday, April 1st, to share a Variety article annoucing the news.

“Congrats, @erickripke1!” Collins wrote in the caption, with a hint of bitterness. “I’ve got to say, I’m a bit disappointed that it sounds like I won’t be a part of this, but I hope it’s a hit.”

Starring Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki as the Winchester brothers, Kripke was the series creator and a showrunner for Supernatural for the first five seasons after which he exited the show.

Sera Gamble the helmed the series for season 6 and 7, Jeremy Carver for seasons 8 till 11 and finally Robert Singer and Andrew Dabb for seasons 12 to 15.

Now, Collins alleged that a new season might be in the works, however, fans were quick to spot the actor’s April Fool’s prank.

“Killer April fools prank omg [crying emoji] I knew it as soon as I saw the article was written by ‘Becky Rosen’,” a fan pointed out.

Becky Rosen (played by Emily Perkins) was a die hard fan and fan-fiction writer in the show, who has written a series of books on the Winchester brothers.

“*delete’s paragraph about Kripke being mean to Misha* you got me Misha,” one fan quipped.

Another wrote, “Got me excited, then upset, then laughing because I realized I'm dumb and it's still April Fool's Day.”
