Willow announces release of new song, ‘Symptom of Life’: ‘Y’all are not ready’
Willow Smith’s may be revisiting her 'Ardipithecus' era with her upcoming music
Willow Smith is back with some more music.
Just a year after releasing her last single, Alone, the 23-year-old artist is back with another song ready for release very soon.
Known mononymously as Willow, the Wait a Minute! songstress announced the release of her new single entitled Symptom of Life set for 12 March, 2024.
For the cover art, Willow posted an artistic self-portrait – a black and white shot of her posing completely topless, covering her chest with her arms in a self-embrace, with a funky hairdo.
The Meet Me at Our Spot hitmaker also posted a BTS clip from the photoshoot earlier this week, captioning it, “y’all are not ready.”
The hairstyle coupled with the hamsa and planet emoji in her latest caption led fans to believe that Willow may be re-visiting her Ardipithecus era – her debut studio album released in 2015 featuring neo soul sounds.
For context, Hamsa is associated with the Evil Eye – particularly in Islam – and is a universal symbol of protection, power, and strength.
Despite fan speculation, it is unclear whether Willow will also release a new album any time soon.
